Counties Manukau Health (DHB)
For the Minor Capital Work Program the DHB was dealing with a substantial amount of back logging. Due to several circumstances the Program had in October 2020 a total of 95 projects on the list. Total budget available for this was $15 mln. As a manager I have supported the Project Engineers and the Facilities Engineering and Asset Management senior leadership team in reducing the volume of projects left to deal with. The projects were anything between the $10,000 and $1,000,000. Challenge was the development of tools (Power BI etc.) to make the processes more efficient. Streamlining procurement processes was part of the contract as well. Furthermore developped more of a Team Spirit and sense of urgency that patient care is at the center of a positive outcome of projects being finished on time. Besides this recruited 2 additional Project Managers and a Procurement Specialist. By the end of the contract the forecast was that 70% of the volume of projects would finish before end of 2021. This in contrast with previous assumption, before I started, of a wish of 20% that would reach the finish line by end of 2021.
Accessible Properties (part of the IHC group)
Accessible Properties was looking for an interim Asset Manager (3 months) for their Hamilton and Auckland Portfolio. Portfolio was a mixed of dated sites & properties and brand new apartment blocks. Supported the roll out of an Asset Management Lifecycle approach for CAPEX works. Furthermore helped them to start up a Facilities Management approach for their new Apartment Blocks in Auckland. Brought these sites in line with Compliance Schedule and Fire Safety requirements.
Public Trust
For an interim period of 6 months (maternity leave cover), as National Property Manager, looked after 30+ leased sites and locations. Furthermore coached Property and Facilities staff in their operational responsibilities. Main achievements were 3 relocations of offices and a new Head Office Fit-out and move into the site. Plus as Project Manager managed a new Customer Centre concept for the design, procurement and fit-out in the NorthWest Shopping Centre in Auckland. Added to the workload was managing and implementing all the Covid-19 guidelines and requirements.
